A North Pennine Adventure

Explore the North Pennines and all the adventure it has to offer.

Walk, cycle, climb, kayak and explore to your heart's content and see how adventurous you can be!

How about:

Walking the Weardale Way which ends in Killhope valley (our valley)

Cycle the hills around us as part of the Cycle Coast to Coast

Trek the Pennine Way which passes us on the other side of the hill

Stroll on one of the many paths in the moors and dales

Kayak in the river Wear

Explore the area's mining heritage with a visit to Killhope Mining Museum

Visit Alston, Middleton-in-Teesdale and High and Low Force Waterfalls

The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, Northumbria and Durham/Newcastle are all less than an hour away

If you're really adventurous, visit us in winter. There's likely to be snow. You're also likely to have to walk up the hill, as we'll be snowed in! Cycling may be difficult, but go skiing at nearby Yad Moss ski resort. Or, just sledge down the hill outside the house...
